MEETING, FEBRUARY 2007
In February, we had a fabulous meeting! Mr. Moziah Saleem talked to the young men about his life and his love for the drum. He brought along 14 drums and gave lessons to the young men on how to play 3-4 rhythms. He also stressed the importance of listening. Everyone was really enthused with his presentation.

Mr. Torin Ellis, who is a motivational speaker, was very interesting and captivating. He spoke to the Kings about the 3T's: Time, Talent and Treasure. He got everyone involved during his presentation.

Then, Mr. Marvin McDowell from UMAR Boxing Center spoke. He had the Regional Boxing Champion and 3 other boxers accompany him. The regional champion will go to the National Boxing Tournament and hopes to qualify for the upcoming Olympics. They did brief exercises and demonstrations. These boxers emphasized to the young Kings the importance of dedication and discipline in this arena.

Following the presentations we had the Rap Contest. Tavon Powell ,first place winner, Da'Twan Nelson, second place winner and Delroy Gaither, who was the third place winner, really did a fantastic job! We then gave out cash awards to deserving young men who brought in their report cards for the 2nd quarter.

Later that evening the young Kings attended the Baltimore Blast game. It turned out to be a really great family event. We had an awesome day!
